in/visibility
In/visibility
A portrait to the invisible
The unseen, visible only through shadows and side glances
A portrait to silence
And the moments between
Pauses
Deep breaths
Coming in and out of visibility
Wanting to be seen
Wanting to be hidden
For those who wish to be more seen
Or more hidden
If unseen, how do we exist.
In/visibility is a hand knit suspended sculpture, made of two fine lines of thread: one is clear monofilament, along with one strand of silk wrapped stainless steel. Mounted a few inches from the wall, it allows light to cast shadows through it. Like gossamer, or a spider web, the piece is visible to those who pay attention.
